This week on The Found Podcast, I had the privilege of chatting with Sarah Prasser, owner of Frannie’s Market in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, and creator of the probiotic wellness product, Frannie’s Coconut Kefir. Sarah is thoughtful, intentional, and an absolute goldmine of wisdom for women building businesses rooted in values and connection.

We first met through mutual friend and former guest, Jennae Cecelia, and I knew from our very first conversation that Sarah had a story my listeners needed to hear. Her path to business ownership is full of courage, curiosity, and a whole lot of heart.

Putting People First in Business
One of the standout themes of our conversation? Sarah’s relentless commitment to her customers and community. As she says:
“It’s all about people. You think you’ve got an amazing product or an amazing service—and yes, you probably do. But you also have to focus on the relationship and the people aspect of it.”
Everything Sarah does, from selecting products for her market to exploring new ventures, centers on listening and responding to the real needs of her customers. When she first heard that the original founders of a coconut kefir product were sunsetting their goods, Sarah shared with a few customers that she had the opportunity to buy out the brand and passed:
“People lost their minds. That made me take a second look and say, ‘Okay, there’s clearly some data here and a demand.'”
That blend of intuition and data, connection and experimentation, is a big part of what makes her approach so effective.

Opening a Store in a Pandemic
Frannie’s Market launched at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic—an act many would call risky, but for Sarah, it was a moment to write her own rules:
“Everybody was rewriting the rule book at that point. So I didn’t necessarily feel like I had a roadmap I needed to follow. I could kind of make up my own rules and do things as they worked for me and my business.”
This mindset of carving your own path, especially as a small-town business owner, feels both revolutionary and refreshingly grounded.

One Step Back, Two Steps Forward
Sarah’s wisdom really shines when she talks about allowing the right opportunities to find her:
“Perhaps I’m removing this opportunity temporarily, but that means I can hopefully launch forward further in the future.”
Whether it’s delaying a product launch, turning down a big ask, or closing a door for now, Sarah believes that saying “no” can actually create more alignment and momentum later. That long view is something I think so many of us can learn from.

One Size Fits One
Like many founders, Sarah has tried all the advice—the podcasts, the productivity books, the morning routines. But ultimately, she’s learned to tune out the noise and tune into what works for her:
“Everyone would harp on their exact routine and how it works for them. So it should totally work for you. And it’s just like, in my opinion, one size fits one.”
And her biggest shift?
“Making myself a priority lately has changed the game for me in such a big way.”
There’s power in designing your business around your own rhythm. Sarah proves you don’t have to follow anyone else’s blueprint to succeed.

If you need a reminder that your business gets to reflect you… that saying no can create space for your yes… and that building with people in mind will always be the right move, this episode is for you.
